The rubber game against the Augusta GreenJackets and the Kannapolis Intimidators will be decided Sunday Night at Lake Olmstead Stadium at 5:35 pm. Sunday is Kids Day, hosted by Channel 6, at the Stadium where some lucky kids get the opportunity to take over the GreenJackets staff.
The Kannapolis Intimidators are a Minor League Baseball Class "A" affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and member of the South Atlantic League. The team offers free admission to uniformed military personnel or discounts to members with military identification cards on Armed Forces Night.

Kannapolis, NC – The Kannapolis Intimidators and their Major League Affiliate, the Chicago White Sox, announced the Intimidators field staff for the 2008 season. Chris Jones (manager), Larry Owens (pitching coach), Andy Tomberlin (hitting coach) and Chris McKenna (trainer) all come back to Kannapolis after debuting here in 2007. The only new addition to the staff is Tim Rodmaker as the strength and conditioning coach.
Kannapolis North Carolina - MainStay Suites Hotel For sports fans, Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, home of the Kannapolis Intimidators, is only minutes away. Shoppers will enjoy bargain hunting at Concord Mills and shopping at the Carolina Mall. Boating, fishing and skiing are located in the surrounding area. Restaurants, cocktail lounges and specialty shops are all within walking distance.
When the dust cleared and the final out was recorded, the Kannapolis Intimidators posted a 4-3 win against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. The count of 6,604 fans brought the season attendance to a record 432,085, surpassing the 2006 total of 427,890.

The Intimidators advanced their lead by even more, bringing in three runs in the sixth and five in the seventh, leaving the score 11-2. The three runs in the sixth inning came in thanks to a 2 RBI double to right field by Sanchez and a Orlando RBI single to right field. Anderson Gomes started off the seventh inning with a single to center field and was advanced as Valenzuela reached on an interference by Jackets’ catcher, Nick Conte. Gomes later came home on a Metheny double to left field. Valenzuela and Metheny were next to score on a Castillo single to right field. Orlando brought in the last two runs of the inning with a single to left-center field.
