Kana Kana is a fighter that practices the far eastern philosophy of "The Way". She is assigned to the PC after he/she acquires Crossroad Keep. She serves as the PC's second in command and takes care of most of the organization and day to day tasks within the keep. She is described as a rather cold woman who takes her job very seriously. Depending on how well the PC fortifies the keep and which side the PC chooses in the final battle, Kana is either killed or takes over the PC's position at the keep. If the PC chooses to side with the King of Shadows, Kana is killed by the PC when he/she returns to claim the keep and her severed head is placed on display. If the PC defeats the King of Shadows, but managed the keep poorly, Kana leaves and the keep's prominence wanes after the War of Shadow and the few recruits that remained turned much of the surrounding area into farmland.

She doesn’t have any friends except a nurse who is too busy to spend enough time with her. You’re about the only influence she has… and that makes things very, very personal. The gifts you give her, the conversations you have, the choices you make shape and mold her personality as she ages… will she be intelligent, gentle, and wise beyond her years? Will she grow up with as close to a normal life as she can? It’s your call.

Kana Fujitani Kana has a one-night stand with a guy. The guy falls in love with her while she doesn't want him being around her. She keeps playing around different guys. While he tries to stop her, a rapist raped her.
From 1996 to 1999, Kana's software focused on managing inbound and outbound e-mail and other Web-based communications. Its software facilitated the delivery of specific and personalized messages to each customer. By mid-1999, the company had more than 100 customers, including eBay, eToys, Priceline.com, Ford Motor Company, and Northwest Airlines. Kana went public on September 22, 1999, offering 3.3 million shares at $15 each. The initial public offering (IPO) raised $44.6 million. In the previous two years, Kana reported losses of $1.4 million in 1997 and $7.4 million in 1998.
Kana Marketing (Kana, 800-737-8738, www.kana.com) fits the new industry pattern: it is marketing software from a firm that gets most of its revenue from customer interaction systems. The Kana campaign manager was originally developed by Rubric and the analytical tools by Broadbase. Rubric was purchased in 1999 by Broadbase, which in turn was purchased by Kana in 2001. Given this chronology, it is not surprising that the campaign manager and analysis components are well integrated, but connections to Kana's modules for Internet and telephone customer service are still quite limited.
