JACKSON, Miss., July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Parkway Properties, Inc. (NYSE: PKY) today announced the purchase of two Virginia office properties containing an aggregate of 274,000 square feet. On July 20, 1998, the Company purchased the 144,000 square foot Westvaco building in Richmond, Virginia for $13,030,000. The five-story office building was constructed in 1986 and is located in southwest Richmond in The Boulders office park. The building is currently 99% leased with Westvaco occupying 57% of the building under a lease that expires in June 2006. The Company ... purchased on July 20, 1998 the 130,000 square foot Town Point Center building in Norfolk, Virginia for $10,700,000. The eleven-story office building was constructed in 1987 and is located in the central business district of Norfolk.
