The husband of the televangelist Juanita Bynum pleaded guilty to assaulting her, was sentenced to three years’ probation and then turned to her and apologized. Thomas W. Weeks III, a minister known to his followers as Bishop Weeks, was charged with beating Ms. Bynum in an Atlanta hotel parking lot in August. He must undergo violence and anger counseling and complete 200 hours of community service that cannot be church-related.

Juanita Bynum was reportedly beaten by her Bishop husband following a dispute in a Atlanta hotel restaurant. Thomas W. Weeks III is charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of terrorist threats against Bynum, according to police spokesman Ronald Campbell. The spokesman said Weeks, a minister, had not been arrested.
