From The Mighty Ducks to the mighty Dawson, Joshua Jackson has proven to be one of the more promising members of the Hollywood teen invasion. The Canadian actor, best known for his portrayal of hellion-with-a-heart-of-gold Pacey Witter on Dawson's Creek, has enjoyed a rising popularity since Dawson's 1998 premiere and was named one of Teen People's "21 Hottest Stars Under 21" in 1999. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on June 11, 1978, Jackson spent most of his early childhood in California with his casting director mother. After moving back to Vancouver, Jackson got his start in commercials, and from there went on to appear in a number of forgettable films. His big break came in 1992 with The Mighty Ducks and its two sequels. Following these, he got a bit role in a film that was helping to usher in the teen horror flick craze, Scream 2 (1997).

Joshua Jackson was born Joshua Carter Jackson on June 11, 1978 in Vancouver, British Columbia although he shuttled back and forth between Vancouver and California, where he spent the first eight years of his life. He returned to Canada at age 11 and embarked on his acting career by appearing in a series of television commercials promoting British Columbian tourism. On the big screen, he first came to prominence in the Mighty Ducks trilogy where he played the part of Charlie Conway, the heart and soul of the perpetually underdog ice hockey team. On television, he became a household name as the troubled but good-hearted Pacey on Dawson’s Creek.

On top of Dawson and the Ducks, Joshua Jackson's had small parts in movies like Scream 2, Cruel Intentions, Gossip and scored a starring role in The Skulls. Oh yeah, and Joshua Jackson has ... managed to get the girl - on several occasions. He has dated co-stars Brittany Daniel (played Eve on Dawson's Creek) and Katie Holmes, AKA Joey. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Joshua Jackson spent the first eight years of his life in California. However, when Vancouver became a popular spot for Hollywood to film movies, he and his mom, a casting director, moved back to their home and native land. Knowing how cruel an acting career could be, his mother, took him to his first audition in hopes of discouraging him. Instead, he landed a commercial for Keebler's potato chips. Following a series of commercials for British Columbia Tourism, he landed the role of Charlie in a stage production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Next came Crooked Hearts, and then Mighty Ducks.

Joshua Jackson was born in 1763 into a family of North Yorkshire cornmillers, who traded in South Stainley, West Tanfield, and adjacent parishes in the Ripon area. He was christened in Burton Leonard and was buried there in 1839.
