Co-star Melissa George claims that Josh Hartnett wants to be anything but a Hollywood heartthrob. But with his easy-going attitude, a cool and casual personality, and of course, a large fanbase of adoring women, it’s hard to see Josh as anything but.

Josh Hartnett and Rihanna filmed a segment for TRL earlier this week and must have really taken a shine to each other. Rumor has it that Josh, 29, and Rihanna, 19, are now kinda sorta dating. That could mean anything from a one night stand to shopping for mutual real estate. Hey, things can move fairly quickly in Hollywood.
Josh Hartnett Though he may be the Hollywood pretty boy poster child de rigueur, Josh Hartnett is not comfortable with the Hollywood scene. The flavor of the month among the tween set, Hartnett is intent on making a mark based on thespian talent alone and not physical appearance. The fact that he has shunned Hollywood in favor of his hometown, St. Paul, Minnesota, is indicative that his feet are planted on the ground, despite his heartthrob status.

From the very start, Hartnett seemed less concerned with fame and the Hollywood lifestyle than with following his interest in a challenging variety of material. And the offers came quickly. Months after leaving school he was cast as the troubled son of a crime stopper in a remake of the British series "Cracker" (ABC, 1997-99). But he first turned a lot of heads with his big screen debut in "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later” (1998), playing the son of Jamie Lee Curtis' tormented Laurie Strode. The newcomer was on a roll, next being asked to join the ensemble cast of Robert Rodriguez and Kevin Williamson’s sci-fi teen thriller "The Faculty" (1998). Hartnett played the roguish cool kid and resident smart aleck of a group of high school students warding off an alien.

In addition to Ford and Hartnett, the cast ... of "Hollywood Homicide" features Lena Olin, Bruce Greenwood, Martin Landau, Lolita Davidovich, Dwight Yoakam, Isaiah Washington, Keith David, Lou Diamond Philips, Eric Idle and Robert Wagner. The film will also feature popular hip-hop artists Master P, Kurupt, from the group Tha Dogg Pound, and Dre, from the group Outkast. Also making an appearance is legendary singer Gladys Knight.
By the time Hartnett took a prominant role in Brian De Palma's 2006 true crime drama The Black Dahlia, it appeared as if the the actor's willingness to challenge himself onscreen had finally begun to pay off. A dark look at the Hollywood underbelly based on author James Ellroy's best-selling novel, The Black Dahlia preceeded an introspective turn as an emerging sports writer who befriends a former boxing champ many had thought dead in Resurrecting the Champ, and a highly challenging role as legendary jazz trumpeter Chet Baker in director Bruce Beresford's The Prince of Cool.
