In All-Star Batman and Robin, the Joker is a melancholy serial killer, responsible for the murder of Dick Grayson's parents. This version sport a large tattoo of a dragon on his back,similair to the Yakuza, has a neo-nazi hechwoman named "Bruno", and is shown to be scheming with Catwoman. He has has commited sex crimes with several women.

Joker's harsh treatment of those whom Yomiko cares for ultimately leads to disastrous consequences for the British Library. In the TV series, Joker tells Yomiko that he has taken Junior, Nancy 2's child, from his mother without her consent and plans to use the boy for his own purposes. In fact, Joker intends to use Junior as the physical vessel for Mr. Gentleman's resurrection. Joker speaks harshly of Nancy and repeats that she will be tried as a traitor. Joker then reveals that he has done something ghastly to Donny, whom Yomiko had believed to be dead. The nature of this particular crime of Joker's is not revealed, but it drives Yomiko into an uncontrollable rage.

In another issue, the Joker threatens to kill crime boss Rupert Thorne if he uncovered Batman's secret identity. Thorne had Hugo Strange discover Batman's identity. But when Strange refuses to tell who Batman is, Thorne has him killed. The Joker, who was ... bidding for Batman's identity alongside the Penguin, tells Thorne he was lucky Strange took whatever secrets he held with him to the grave; he explains that he is destined to defeat Batman in a manner worthy of his criminal reputation, and that no one else has the right.
