Last March, Johnny Depp's 7 year old daughter, Lily-Rose, was in serious condition at a London hospital after E. coli poisoning caused her kidneys to fail. In the middle of filming Sweeney Todd when she fell ill, Depp abruptly left the production, effectively shutting it down for two weeks as he kept a constant vigil at her side. Yesterday, he paid a visit to the hospital again. With $2 million. The Daily Mail says:
Johnny Depp, who just recently wrapped production on two big movies, Sweeney Todd and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, may be biting into a new role. The actor’s production company Infinitum-Nihil and GK Films have just obtained the rights to and are currently developing a script for the film rendition of Dark Shadows.
After eight years and two children, Johnny Depp, 43, and Vanessa Paradis, 34, have planned to wed this summer. Sources say the couple have thought about getting married before, but after their 7 year old daughter, Lily-Rose, had a recent life-threatening ordeal, the pair have been "spurred into action." The Daily Mail reports:
If Johnny Depp had had as much momentum a decade ago as he does now, chances are he too would have been nominated for his zany, sunny portrayal of the cross-dressing Wood. Bill Murray ... steals the show as an actor in Wood's troupe of weirdos and losers.

Reemi - Book buys for Depp - Another Hornsby tale to be adapted - Johnny Depp is getting plenty of books for Christmas. Graham King's Initial Entertainment Group has bought the film rights to three tomes for Depp's production shingle, Infinitum Nihil. Depp's shingle and King will co-produce all three for Warner Bros. Pictures under King's deal with the studio. That's not the only action Depp's shingle is seeing under its three-year production deal with King's Initial. Warners and Initial have hired writer D.V.
An initial costume concept for Jack Sparrow before Depp's ideas took hold Initially, Sparrow was conceived for the first film as a trickster who guides the hero, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), but Johnny Depp's performance led to Sparrow's role being altered. Depp's flamboyant and eccentric characterization, partially inspired by Pepé Le Pew and Keith Richards, turned Sparrow into an iconic anti-hero and the breakout character of the series. Depp earned his first Academy Award nomination, and in a case of life imitating art, Richards played a cameo role as Sparrow's father in the third film.
