Johnny Depp secretly visited Great Ormond Street Hospital yesterday to donate $2 million of his own money to thank staff for saving his daughter's life. He arrived unexpectedly at the London children's hospital where eight-year-old Lily-Rose was treated last year when her kidneys failed. Last week he invited five Great Ormond Street doctors and nurses to the party for the London premiere of his film Sweeney Todd. And on November 29, unknown to the public, Depp spent four hours at the hospital telling bedtime stories to patients dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow after having his Pirates Of The Caribbean costume flown over from Los Angeles."

Johnny and the entire cast of Sweeney Todd all made appearances on the red carpet tonite at the Odeon in Leicester Square in London. The rain in London stopped just long enough for the entire crew to walk the carpet and Johnny even spent some time signing autographs. Tonights festivities continue after the screening with an afterparty benefit gala for the Greater Ormond Street Hospital. Sweeney Todd opens in the UK on January 25th 2008.

TIM Burton has been told to tone down the gore in the screen version of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," starring Johnny Depp. The suits at Warner Bros. "became a tad squeamish when they viewed grisly footage of blood splashing across the set as Depp slits the throats of his customers," London's Daily Mail reports.

ET is in London with JOHNNY DEPP, who has once again reunited with director TIM BURTON. Their latest collaboration -- 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' -- is based on the hit Broadway musical. It opens on December 21 and, yes, Johnny does sing!

Johnny is definately the best actor of his time. He is really versatile and always manages to bring a part of him into his acting. His most recent film, Sweeney Todd is a magnificant peice of art, thanks to all included in the making of it, but mostly Johnny. Also, he is rather nice to look at!
