The screen adaptation of legendary lyricist and composer Stephen Sondheim's award winning stage musical has secured 3 Oscars nominations including Best Actor for Johnny Depp. At this year's Golden Globes Depp was named Best Actor for his outstanding portrayal and the film won Best Film (Musical or Comedy).

Depp owns a 45-acre island in the Bahamas. He said on The Late Show with David Letterman that Marlon Brando advised him on how to evaluate and successfully purchase the island, both of them co-starred in the film Don Juan DeMarco, one of Brando's last films.
