Due to the recent destruction in Louisiana from Hurricane Katrina, John Mayer Trio will no longer be playing at the House of Blues in New Orleans, LA on September 27. John and the Trio are saddened by this course of events and hope for the quick reconstruction of New Orleans so they can reschedule at the HOB in the near future.

John Mayer John Mayer has two new projects in the pipeline. The first is a live album with his newly-formed John Mayer Trio, while the second is his next studio CD, titled Continuum. No official release dates have been announced for either record, but Billboard.com reports that the live disc will be out in December.

"John Mayer Trio has just announced their plans to play with Phil Lesh and Friends on New Year's Eve in San Francisco. Phil and Friends have asked the Trio to join them for three nights of music starting on Thursday, December 29th at the Fillmore, then moving to the Warfield Theater on Friday, December 30th. John Mayer Trio will kick off the New Year at the Bill Graham Civic Center with Phil & Friends, featuring Joan Osborne, Jimmy Herring, Barry Sless, Rob Baracco and Jeff Sipe.

John Clayton Mayer (born on October 16, 1977) is an American Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist. Originally from Connecticut, he briefly attended Berklee College of Music before moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998, where he refined his skills and began gaining a following. After originally performing mainly acoustic rock, in 2005 he made a transition towards the blues genre with the formation of the John Mayer Trio. Mayer won two Grammy awards for Pop Vocal Album for Continuum and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Waiting on the World to Change" at the 49th Grammy Awards in February 2007. The trio played a combination of blues and rock music. In October 2005, the Trio opened for The Rolling Stones during a sold-out club tour of their own,[35] and that November, released a live album called Try! The band took a break in mid-2006. In September of 2006, Mayer announced plans for the Trio to begin work on a future studio album.[36]
