While studying Finance at TCU in 1997, John Mars, son of Forrest Mars invited Ash Huzenlaub to the Houston rice milling plant which his grandfather, Erich had developed many years before. Steve Case, Ted Leonsis, John Mars and the other D.C. businessmen deserved the praise they received in his magazine. But if Javers’ mindless accusations against conservative writers and organizations become the ethical standard, it taints his views, too. When Javers criticizes conservative writers, the standard isn’t accuracy, its perceived influence. In the case of Michael Fumento, Monsanto never took him golfing.

John Mars fans were pleasantly surprised this past winter by a series of "unplugged" style guest spots that he made with his friend, singer/songwriter Wayne Marshall. With Wayne taking a back seat for a moment, John suddenly appeared and sang a plaintive "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" (written by Bob Dylan) mid-set, on several concerts where Wayne was opening the show. These gigs included occassions where Wayne was doing the warm-up slot in front of such stalwart perfomers such as; Ray Materick, Gayle Ackroyd and, Fred J. Eaglesmith & The Flying Squirrels. Wayne Marshall is sounding especially powerful himself these days - he gets an absolutely beautiful tone from his big, Gibson acoustic guitar, his voice has never sounded better and, his original songs such as "Today's Just One Of Those Days" are real crowd pleasers.

His residence became known as Atkinson's Corners, and the cemetery on his land was referred to as Corner's Cemetery. He ... founded the Universalist Church, of which Lewis Hill and Joel Munger were members.

John and Carolyn John ... had his North Node at 11 Virgo nice and tightly trine to his Venus at 11 Capricorn. This means that romance and marriage can set the stage for growth, and it did when he wed Carolyn Bessette. There is an attraction to artistic, friendly, and loving people that aids growth. This aspect gave John the ability to express his growth potential in a charming, easy-to-take way, even if he wasn't sure exactly where he should be going.
