John Lithgow graduated from Harvard University. He won a Fulbright Scholarship and used it to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. As an actor, he won 3 Emmy Awards, 1 Golden Globe Award, 1 American Comedy Award and 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance in "3rd Rock from the Sun". In addition, he earned 10 Emmy nominations and was recognized for films like the Pelican Brief, The World According to Garp, Terms of Endearment and Footloose. Ultimately, he is part of the comedy show Twenty Good Years as John Mason. John Mason is the father of Stella Mason. He is a well-known New York surgeon who is being pushed for early retirement.
