John Frankenheimer THE distinguished American filmmaker, John Frankenheimer, has returned to Canada and is making his fourth motion picture there called Reindeer Games presently filming in Vancouver, British Columbia, for Miramax. The main players are Gary Sinese, Charlize Theron, Ben Affleck and Clarence Williams III. Frankenheimer is working from a script by Ehren Kruger, the writer's second screenplay following Arlington Way, released this summer.
John Frankenheimer passe son enfance dans le Queens, puis il étudie à l'académie militaire de Lasalle. Sportif accompli, il se destine alors à la carrière de joueur de tennis. Quand il entre au Williams College, les spectacles qui s'y montent régulièrement lui donne envie d'être acteur. En 1951, il fait son service militaire au Motion Pictures Squadron of the Air Force. Son aisance à la caméra lui révèle sa véritable vocation : il décide de devenir réalisateur. Démobilisé en 1953, il débute à la télévision comme assistant réalisateur à CBS et travaille notamment avec Sidney Lumet.
John Michael Frankenheimer was born on February 19, 1930, in an affluent section of Queens in New York, the son of a stockbroker and an Irish Catholic mother. He attended the Roman Catholic LaSalle Military Academy in Long Island, but his faith did not survive graduation in 1947. After this he went to Williams College in Massachusetts, majoring in English.

Frankenheimer was born on February 19, 1930, in Melba, New York. His father was a German Jewish stockbroker, while his mother was Irish Catholic. Frankenheimer was raised in the Catholic faith and received his education at LaSalle Military Academy, a Catholic military school. After graduating from LaSalle in 1947, Frankenheimer entered Williams College. By this time, he had developed an interest in acting and studied drama. Frankenheimer earned his B.A. degree from Williams in 1951.

He was graduated from Williams College, in Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1951. He became a film maker while serving as a U.S. Air Force lieutenant during the Korean War, directing service films for the Air Force and became interested in directing after his military service.
