The Kennedys were a rich and influencal Irish-Catholic family, many of them did great things, but lots of sad things happened to many of them, JFK's brother Bobby Kennedy was ... a famous politician. Bobby Kennedy was also killed and it is also a great mystery.

Kennedy desired a political career. In 1946 he became a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from the Massachusetts eleventh congressional district. Realizing that, despite his family's background in Democratic politics, he was unknown to the district's electorate, Kennedy built a large personal organization for his campaign. On whirlwind tours he met as many voters as possible, addressing them in a direct, informal style on timely topics. In this campaign, as in all the others, his brothers, sisters, and mother supported him. His brothers, Robert and Ted, acted as his managers, while his sisters and mother held social events.

CBS News correspondent Terry Drinkwater, standing at the lectern where Kennedy had just spoken, asked someone what had happened. An unidentified man answered, "Somebody said he's been shot". Drinkwater then advised his CBS colleagues to make sure they were rolling videotape. From the lectern, supporters called out for doctors, and Kennedy's brother-in-law Stephen Smith (with wife Jean Kennedy Smith at his side) calmly asked the crowd to leave the room.
