Such a suspicion grows stronger upon examination of Ball's terms. The last sentence, indicating that each expert must meet the approval of the "author" - Ball himself - is the giveaway. If three written reports proving him wrong were to appear on his doorstep, he would simply need to reject one or more of the experts, for any reason or no reason at all. Certainly he would have no incentive to make himself $100,000 poorer by approving whoever disagreed with him.

The "liberal" view is that Ball overstepped his authority as Chief Executive Officer by making major organizational and personnel changes in the County without consulting the Supervisors or anyone else. Liberals say Ball was ... rude and abrupt with the "liberal" supervisors. Accordingly, the Supes had no choice but to fire Ball to keep the situation from deteriorating further.

In the meantime, it is worth noting that one highly qualified analyst has already examined Ball's claims and dismissed them. Well before Ball's challenge was posted to his web page, Dr. Nevin Bryant, supervisor of cartographic and image processing applications at Caltech/NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, examined the photographs with digital enhancement techniques unavailable to Brugioni and Poirierin 1979, and apparently not used by Ball in any of his analyses. Dr. Bryant's analysis proves that the photographs were not tampered with. [7]

The Navajo community is mourning the loss of John Ballman,President of the Crusaders Soccer Club who served on the board for over 15 years, whopassed away in a car accident in the Las Vegas area.
