Pinnacle Las Vegas to Sponsor Nemechek at PIR: Joe Nemechek's #13 Chevy will have a new look at this weekend's Nextel Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway. The Ginn Racing entry will be sponsored by Pinnacle Las Vegas, the distinctively designed $850 million managed condominium resort-hotel. The twin 36-story towers with 1,104 luxury residences are scheduled to open in late 2009 and will be situated on 12 acres just west of the famed Las Vegas Strip. Joe Nemechek, in his Nemco Motorsports No. 87 Chevrolet, topped the morning NASCAR Busch Series test session at Daytona International Speedway today. Nemechek posted a lap of 182.901. Hendrick Motorsports Kyle Busch was second fastest with a lap of 182.882 mph. He ... earned the third-fastest time in his team's second car. Robert Yates Racing's Stephen Leicht and Roush Racing's David Ragan followed to round out the top five. The rest of the top 10 followed with Richard Childress Racing's Timothy Peters, Joe Gibbs Racing's Aric Almirola, Roush Racing's Todd Kluever, Michael Waltrip Racing's David Reutimann and Braun Racing's Dave Blaney. Testing for teams in the odd-numbered points positions from 2006 continues through Sunday.

* Joe Nemechek (43) will switch from the 01 Chevy to the new #13 team. Nemechek will be reunited with crew chief Peter Sospenzo, who was recently hired by MB2. Sospenzo was Nemechek's crew chief at Hendrick Motorsports in 2002 and 2003. The twosome combined to score a victory at the 2003 spring race in Richmond, Va. Team sponsors for the #13 and #14 will be announced at a later date.
