Jack Fowler "Jock" Hutchison, Jr. (June 6, 1884 – September 27, 1977) was a professional golfer. He was born in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland but later moved to the United States and became a U.S. citizen. He won two major championships, the 1920 PGA Championship and the 1921 Open Championship at the St Andrews. He was a U.S. citizen at the time of the later victory, so he probably was at the time of the former .... His 1921 victory was the first by a U.S. based player; the following year Walter Hagen became the first U.S. born winner.
Jock Hutchison closed with a 68 and ... bettered the old record, but he was two strokes shy of a tie. Travers did not defend. The purse was increased this year to $1,200, with $500 and a gold medal for the leading professional, but there were still only 10 money places. Evans won the Amateur three months later and was the first to win both in the same year.

Barnes, Sarazen, Tommy Armour, Jock Hutchison, and other first-rank players were much sought-after by the golf-course developers because of what they would mean for the golf in their little Florida fiefdoms and to the residential communities being built around them. The pros would help persuade people to buy second homes or to move down permanently. But no one headed south with more positive copy and allure than Walter Hagen.

The tradition of honorary starter began in 1963 when old-timers Jock Hutchison and Fred McLeod did the honours. They weren't Masters champions but were major winners, and they didn't stop after one shot. Sometimes they played nine holes before coming in for breakfast.

Jock Hutchison For the fourth time in 12 years, the Senior PGA Championship went to a playoff, and for the third time, Jock Hutchison was defeated. Though he was 68 years old, the ageless Hutchison nearly shot his age, a 3-under-par 69, in the final round to tie Al Watrous at 142. In the playoff, fatigue caught up with Hutchison on the final nine. His 37-4481 resulted in a six-stroke loss to Watrous.

During the tournament Jack Hobens and Jock Hutchison shot 71 to set a new course record. At the sixth, Hobens played his second over the trees and laid the ball dead on the green, he ... holed his mashie shot for a two at the ninth.
