6. Manchester Airport -- Passengers
   Manchester is to gain a second service to New York's Newark Airport, arguably a better arrival point than JFK. Continental Airlines is to take the unusual step on 10 June of replacing its current wide-bodied Boeing 777 operation with two Boeing 757 services all year round. The revised operation gives nearly 50% extra seat capacity in the winter (and 21% in the summer). The choice of departure/arrival times will be of real benefit to passengers. OAG's Airline of the Year 2004 points out that in its BusinessFirst section the 2 + 2 layout is identical to the previous accommodation in a 777 but with the centre seats removed. British Airways ... offer single Boeing 767 service to the less attractive New York Kennedy Airport.

   In the US, all of the airports are operated directly by government entities or government-created airport authorities (... known as port authorities). Only Indianapolis International Airport, which is owned by the City of Indianapolis and leased to BAA Indianapolis, Inc., a subsidiary of BAA, and Stewart International Airport in New York's Hudson Valley, are entirely operated by a private entity. It doesn't matter if you live in Dutchess or Putnam County, the Cold Spring Metro station makes your trip to New York City very convenient - and useful! Metro-North riders are often able to work, read, eat, and anything else - all while they're on their way to work.
