Jewelry Boxes: Drawers
built 267 days ago
Jewelry box drawers are dovetailed and individually fitted, and have adjustable hardwood dividers. This means that each drawer may be partitioned individually and set up to suit the owner's specific needs by removing sections of the divider to create larger openings: one drawer for small earrings, one for necklaces, etc. You can do this yourself --- it is a self-locking joint and requires no tools. This is standard on all jewelry boxes. Typically, each jewelry box includes a variety of dividers in the smaller drawers, with larger drawers undivided (see below). Drawer interiors are lined with premium cotton velvet, and finished inside with shellac.
Jewelry armoires are tall, with stacked drawers and often with hooks to hang longer items such as necklaces. Here's a selection of armoires in different styles. A few are unisex versions, suitable for a man or a woman.
Walnut_Crotch_Jewelry_Box_2.jpg (8908 bytes) This striking lady's jewelry box has a top divided storage tray that lifts out to reveal a large storage area below. The lower drawer is divided into storage sections. The box is constructed from a single resawn board on the sides. When viewed from any side, the grain of the highly figured boards wraps around the box. The striking flame crotch is a veneer in the top.
Rotating Jewelry Armoire Designed for tighter spaces, every inch of this jewelry box serves a storage purpose. Both the drawers and doors feature a soft curved line. This upscale piece will efficiently store and organize nearly 200 pieces of jewelry and rotates for easy access to the drawers, necklace compartment and the side earring rails.
This jewelry box is made with laminated Cherry, Padauk and Canary Wood with African Mahogany on the front and back. The drawer pulls are Cherry and it has been finished with Danish Oil and Feed-N-Wax.
