Jesus: Christians
built 214 days ago
Christ on the Cross by Jacques Louis David. In recent history Dr. Gary Habermas is considered the foremost Christian apologist for defending the resurrection of Jesus. Other notable defenders of the resurrection include: William Lane Craig, Ben Witherington, Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell, Edwin M. Yamauchi, N.T. Wright and Michael Horner. [7][8][9][10][11] In addition, much has been written defending the resurrection of Christ in the field of Christian legal apologetics.
Some advance speculation had Cameron's documentary denying the reality of the resurrection of Jesus, a central belief of Christianity. But the Discovery Channel Web site for the program says it does not challenge the resurrection or ascenson of Jesus. However, that assertion depends on how you define resurrection and ascension, and many Christians would likely not be comfortable with stretching their definitions to fit.

How to settle who has the best Jesus miniseries? Let the Pope decide. Although NBC got its religious-themed TV movie Mary, Mother of Jesus, starring Christian Bale and Pernilla August, on the air first, CBS is hoping to get the Pope's stamp of approval for its yet-to-air mini Jesus.

Is it possible that the portrait of the divine Son of God is an exaggeration, at best, or a complete fabrication, at worst, of the original Jesus? Could the one whom Christians worship be merely a mythological creation or is he real?

Later in an interview,[58] Simcha Jacobovici said that the film can be seen as a proof for those who question Jesus' existence, and stressed on the idea the film being about science, truth and facts. But it's worth mentioning that only the few lines of theological considerations drawn on the film's website [2], (resurrecting from a second tomb after being moved or the spiritual only ascent to Heaven) are directly contradicting the majority of Christian views, which make this confirmation of Jesus historicity at least of no use[59] from this perspective, if not tearing apart[60] the belief.
