Jessica Simpson: Songs
built 665 days ago
European promotion for Autobiography and "Pieces of Me" began in September 2004; Simpson appeared on several television shows to perform the song there. "Shadow" was not released in Europe (although it was the second single in Australia), where "La La" was the second single. Shortly after the Orange Bowl incident, Simpson performed the song on several television shows in the UK in January 2005; "La La" debuted and peaked just outside the top ten, and sales of Autobiography ... rose considerably during the same period.

Washington, D.C. — Simpson attends the Kennedy Center Honors to pay tribute to honoree Dolly Parton. She walks the carpet with dad. During the ceremony, she botches the words to the song 9 to 5 and dashes offstage. She later asks producers to tape another performance after the show ends. After reviewing tapes of her second performance, Simpson asks producers to cut her act from the Dec. 26 CBS broadcast.

Jessica is boldly traveling down several fresh new musical avenues. In addition to offering more of the lush, passionate ballads that have become her signature, she has effectively expanded her creative styles. This includes ebullient rhythm pop and sultry R&B and is a collection of funk-fortified songs and sophisticated contemporary ballads. Jessica has the finesse and confidence of a well seasoned performer.
