Her father, Mark Alba, who was in the Air Force, married a woman who could have racked up a lot of frequent flier miles visiting her relatives all over the world. Cathy Jensen, Jessica’s mother, was of Danish, French-Canadian, English and Italian descent. Jessica’s mother, a lifeguard, taught her daughter to swim before she learned to walk. As a little girl, Jessica spent a lot of time sick in bed watching sports. Her interest in acting began at age five, and her health improved dramatically when the family moved back to California.
