Before the meeting with the pastor, Betty had observed two cobblestones in the garden area during a brief look at the former garden's site, and she asked the Rev. Jackson's permission to retrieve them. The pastor gave his permission, and the next morning John and Betty went to the former garden's site with digging tools and unearthed 12 cobblestones, placed them in the trunk of their car and took them home, placing them in their yard.

Stating that he follows Nichiren’s philosophy, 13th century Japanese Buddhism. Jackson went on to talk about how he feels that his Buddhist practice is the vehicle that took him to where he is now in his professional career. Jackson explained how his co-producer Kester Lyddon (Kester 1Time) introduced him to the practice around the time of his separation with his son’s mother (Leah Green), and how the practice led him through hard times without the pain he would otherwise be suffering from.
"I met Jackson when he first came to town and I showed him Adena Springs months before he bought it," Lockridge said. "There was never, ever -- at any time -- any mention from de Seroux or Headley or any of those guys to me about participating or sharing in the commission."

At ADT College, Jackson was involved in sports, music, computers and drama. He attended the School of Radio Broadcasting and West Thames College where he gained degrees in Radio Broadcasting, Music Technology and Recording Engineering.
