Jeremy Mayfield: Teams
built 608 days ago
After making his second consecutive Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup showdown in 2005, Jeremy Mayfield will steady his aim for a third run at the Chase and, perhaps, the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series title next season. Mayfield remains the veteran anchor of the Evernham Motorsports team driving the No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger with a fresh, new standard paint scheme in bold "Viper Red." Action 1/64th Scale, Limited Edition.
Jeremy Mayfield has yet to make the field for a Nextel Cup Series race this season but he is getting a new crew chief. Bill Davis Racing on Friday named Tommy Baldwin Jr. as interim crew chief for Mayfield's No. 36 Toyota. Baldwin takes over for Derrick Finley, who will remain with the team in an engineering capacity.
Jeremy Mayfield is considered one of NASCAR's brightest young stars. In his sixth year of Winston Cup competition, the Owensboro, Ky., native drives for Penske-Kranefuss Racing. He's in his second season as the teammate for three-time Winston Cup champion Rusty Wallace.
UPDATE 2: Jeremy Mayfield will replace Jeff Green in the Haas CNC Racing #66 Chevrolet, effective immediately, team general manager Joe Custer said Monday morning. Mayfield ... will join Scott Riggs in the driver lineup for next season but the alignment of the two drivers with car numbers in 2008 has not been determined, Custer said. Green is 27th in the series points standings. "[Green] did a good job for us, and we appreciate everything he did," Custer said. His replacement in the #36 Bill Davis Racing team for this weekend at Atlanta has not been announced. As far as the status of current Haas CNC Racing driver Johnny Sauter, Custer said Sauter (who is 31st in points) is under contract with the team and that "we're working through that" for 2008.(SceneDaily.com)

Mayfield signed a contract with Bill Davis Racing for 2007, driving the #36 car with primary sponsorship from 360 OTC. Associate sponsors include World Wrestling Entertainment, the TNT television network, and rock band Kiss. He ran a total of 13 races for Bill Davis Racing in 32 attempts with a best finish of 22nd at Kansas Speedway. In August 2007, it was announced that Mayfield and Davis would part ways at the end of the season. Later in the season, he would take over driving the #66 Best Buy car for Haas CNC Racing starting with Atlanta 2007. Late in 2007, it was learned that he and teammate Scott Riggs would switch rides with Jeremy ending up in the #70 car for the 2008 season.
With Jeremy Mayfield making the inaugural Chase for the Cup in 2004, he has lived up to the expectations of the team and Evernham Motorsports. In dramatic fashion, he made the chase by capturing the fall race at Richmond. Each coin is individually numbered and produced in a quantity of 519.
