Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Connelly has signed with CAA. Connelly moved to the Century City agency after her former agent, Risa Shapiro, left ICM to form a yet-to-be-named management company with Melanie Greene. Shapiro will now manage Connelly, who is working on two films: a remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" with Keanu Reeves for Fox, and Focus Features' animated postapocalyptic nightmare "9" with Elijah Wood.
Jennifer Connelly has admitted she will never enjoy diamonds again after making her latest movie. The 36-year-old actress, who stars in 'Blood Diamond' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio , says she was shocked to learn that the conflict diamond industry in Sierra Leone funds civil wars and uses child soldiers.
In this movie, Jennifer played the main character's wife, and she delivered an acclaimed performance. The film itself didn't break any box-office record but received positive reviews. This led Jennifer to a contract with Fox for the TV series "$treet, The" (2000) , a main part in the memorable and dramatic love-story Waking the Dead (2000/I), and more important, a breakthrough part in the polemic and applauded independent Requiem for a Dream (2000), a tale about the haunting lives of drug addicts and the subsequent process of decadence and destruction. In Requiem, Jennifer had her career's most courageous, difficult part, a performance that earned her a Spirit Award Nomination.
Icelandic production company True North has confirmed that Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Connelly will star in A Journey Home, based on a novel by Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson. Earlier plans for the movie with Liv Ullmann as director were canceled in 2005.
Variety is reporting that Jennifer Connellyhas joined the cast of the remake of the 1951 sci-fi hit, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Connelly will play the Patricia Neal part in the movie, in which aliens inform humans they must either live in peace or get it.Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) will direct.
