As with many young actors, Jennifer Aniston's career starts with Off-Broadway productions and miscellaneous jobs such as waitress, telemarketing and receptionist work. In 1990 Jennifer broke into television with roles in Camp Cucamonga (1990), TV series Molloy, Ferris Bueller and The Edge. 1993 found Jennifer cast as Tory Reding in the horror flop Leprechaun and in TV's Sunday Funnies.

Aniston moved to Hollywood and was cast in her first television role in 1990, starring as a regular on the short-lived series Molloy and in the TV movie Camp Cucamonga. She ... co-starred in Ferris Bueller, a television adaptation of the 1986 hit movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the same year; the series, however, was quickly canceled. Aniston then appeared in two more failed television comedy shows, The Edge and Muddling Through, and guest-starred on Quantum Leap, Herman's Head, Burke's Law, on South Park in episode Rainforest Schmainforest. After the string of cancelled shows, along with her appearance in the critically derided 1993 horror film, Leprechaun, Aniston considered giving up acting.

In 2001, Aniston was nominated for an Emmy as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series respectively for her “Friends” role. As three-time nominee for the People’s Choice Award as Favorite Female Television Performer, she won the award in 2001 and 2002. Ihr Patenonkel ist der Kojak-Darsteller Telly Savalas. Obwohl Aniston das erste Jahr ihrer Kindheit in Griechenland verbrachte, war sie den Großteil ihrer Kindheit in New York City. 1985 zog die Familie schließlich nach Los Angeles, wo John Aniston fortan eine Rolle in der Soap Zeit der Sehnsucht übernahm.
