The first person to plumb the depths of Jeffrey Dahmer's depravity was Detective Patrick Kennedy. A huge bear of a man with dramatic handlebar mustache, he engaged Dahmer's confidence and was the person to whom he confessed the details of his thirteen-year killing spree.

Now at his wits' end, the elder Dahmer packed his son off to live with his aging grandmother in a suburb outside Milwaukee. There, Dahmer's behavior became increasingly bizarre. Once, his grandmother found a fully clothed male mannequin in his closet; another time, a.357 under his bed. At times the house would be suffused with unpleasant odors. As he had in the past, Dahmer lamely explained away his activities, though he now convinced no one. Finally, he moved out of his grandmother's house.

A Los Angeles native, Jacobson was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards for his previous feature, Dahmer, which was based on events from the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Down in the Valley stars Edward Norton, Evan Rachel Wood, David Morse, Rory Culkin, and Bruce Dern. The festival's press release describe it as a "suspenseful crime story set at the edge of the San Fernando Valley, a seedy place of horse ranches and immigrant gangs, where ten-lane freeways converge to create a cultural no man's land."

Dahmer ... admits that the main reason for killings is the power. He wanted to hold all the power. He even states that had he found a good-looking man who would obey all his commands that there would have not been a reason for him to attempt the “zombie process.” He didn’t like not being in control.

On September.15, 1987 Jeffrey meets Steven W.Tuomi, twenty eight years. He is to become Jeffrey Dahmers second victim. Steven like so many after him becomes a sexual plaything for Jeffrey Dahmer. Raped, murdered and dismembered.

The second witness described a man who resembled Dahmer as he struggled with a young boy in the parking lot. The witness says the man threw the boy into a blue van and took off.
