Jeff Gordon: Wins
built 622 days ago
Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon In Nascar, Ryan Newman was leading the Bank of America 500 when he crashed with three laps to go, and Jeff Gordon took over from there, holding off Clint Bowyer to win at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Gordon now leads his teammate, Jimmie Johnson, by 68 points. Only three drivers have a realistic shot at the Cup: Gordon, Johnson, and Bowyer.
Jeff Gordon NASCAR Auto Racing Framed 8x10 Photograph Collage A four-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion, Jeff Gordon is ... a three-time Daytona 500 winner. Gordon was born in Vallejo, California on August 4, 1971 and he is simply hailed as one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998.
StockCarFans.com - Rumblings - California: #24-Jeff Gordon went back-to-back today....and did it with all of about a gallon of gas to spare. In what turned into a "fuelish" event (don't they so often do both here and at Michigan), Jeff Gordon won today's Auto Club 500 at California Speedway by 12.871 seconds....but it was actually much closer than that. #18-Bobby Labonte got to within a couple seconds late, but ran out of gas on the final lap. For Gordon, this was his 3rd win at Fontana (he won the inaugural event in 1997 and again in 1999) and his second win of 2004. This was win #66 for his career, and the 120th for Hendrick Motorsports (made even sweeter since they ran 1/2). The victory was worth $318,628 for Gordon from the over $5.7M in posted awards.

Gordon started off 1999 with a bang by winning the Daytona 500 from the pole position holding off Dale Earnhardt in the closing laps. In early March, he introduced his new Busch Grand National team at Las Vegas. The first race for the Pepsi Chevrolet BGN team was a solid fourth place effort. In Gordon's sixth Busch event of the season, Gordon posted a win at Phoenix. Gordon's Winston Cup season was a year of transition. He posted seven victories, including the aforementioned victory at Daytona, but ... had 7 DNF's.

Leading up to the Chase, Johnson, the 2006 NEXTEL Cup champion, had 15 top-5 finishes and six wins including the last two races; Gordon, a four-time NEXTEL Cup Champion, had 15 top-5 finishes and four wins; and Busch, who holds the record for the youngest race winner in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, had six top-5 finishes including a win.
Gordon in Limbo at Talladega: Since the car he used to win the Daytona 500 is parked at Daytona USA for a year, #24-Jeff Gordon will bring a new ride to Talladega. It’s called “Limbo.”
