Jeb Bush: Brothers
built 277 days ago
Jeb Bush was in a precarious political position, no matter what he did. He had been criticized for not doing enough for his brother before the election or for doing it wrong.
Not to mention the various targeted public-opinion polls already floated, including Jeb Bush in the coy “who would you support if the election was today?” slate. It’s only his brother’s record as a foreign-policy hand grenade that keeps him from shouting his intentions to the skies. He’d run in a New York minute if he thought he had a serious chance of winning.
house The Bush tradition of business and politics started with Prescott Sheldon Bush, a U.S. senator from Connecticut who ... served as managing partner of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., a private banking firm that epitomizes old Wall Street. His son George Bush moved his young family to Midland, Texas, in the 1950s to get in on the oil boom. He helped found Zapata, an oil company named after the Marlon Brando film Viva Zapata! Prescott Bush's Wall Street connections and relatives repeatedly raised new money to help the fledgling oil company.

Randy Enwright, a political consultant to the George W. Bush campaign in Florida, said he spoke to Jeb Bush "a couple of times" during the recount period but said he did not recall the substance of the conversations. "He was trying to be as objective and fair as possible," Enwright said. "But he obviously cared about getting his brother elected."
If W was really interested in supporting a family dynasty, he would dump Cheney and appoint his brother as Veep so Jeb could run around the country on Air Force 2 at taxpayer expense and campaign for himself full-time. Without that substantial benefit, how in the hell will Jeb overcome the long shadow of his dad’s lies (”Read my lips, no new taxes.”) and his brother making the family name synonymous with failure, defeat, lying , corruption and … well you get the point. Jeb needs to face facts that W sh*t in the well and the family can’t go back to it.
"These results have almost nothing to do with Jeb Bush personally," the pollster said. "Most Americans know little about him. The negative reaction flows from his brother's current low approval ratings and, most probably, from a natural aversion to too long a `dynasty' in American politics."
