Reno was born Juan Moreno y Herrera Jiménez[1][2] (... written as Don Juan Moreno y Herrera Jimenez)[3] in Casablanca, Morocco. His Spanish Andalusian parents were natives of Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Jerez de la Frontera, and had moved to North Africa to escape the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. He has a younger sister, Marie-Thérese.

In 1995, Reno appeared with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline in his first U.S.-produced film, French Kiss, a romantic comedy directed by Lawrence Kasdan. That same year, he appeared in the Italian-produced Al di l delle nuvole, as well as the French comedy Les Truffes.

This video is from the movie “Wasabi” from 2001 with Jean Reno. He plays a French policeman that goes back to Japan to look for his wife and he seems to be able to consume an unusual amount of wasabi… Mmmm….not so sure.
