When Jay Mohr was a boy growing up in Verona, NJ, he dreamed of becoming a comedian. By the time he was a young adult, he had fulfilled that dream, first finding popularity in standup comedy and then making his way to television and feature films. Early in his career, he gained recognition for his uncanny and hilarious impressions, particularly for that of stony Christopher Walken. He made his television debut as part of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players on NBC's Saturday Night Live. While on the show, Mohr received an Emmy nomination for his work. After leaving SNL, Mohr began guest starring on other shows and landed regular parts on The Jeff Foxworthy Show and Local Heroes.

IRVINE, Calif. – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that popular comedian and actor Jay Mohr will be appearing at the BlizzCon® 2007 gaming festival, which will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA on August 3 and 4. In addition to a long and distinguished comedy career, Mohr is notable for his roles in films such as Jerry Maguire and Pay It Forward and for creating, producing, and hosting the successful television show Last Comic Standing.

Comedian Jay Mohr has been hired by Fox Sports to host The Alternative with Jay Mohr, in an attempt to add a more entertaining element to their usual straightforward sports analysis. Hollywood Reporter says this is being called "sportstainment" which sounds a little gross, possibly because the word "stain" is in the middle. Mohr will write a weekly column for FoxSports.com and submit twenty minutes of video segments each week made up of monologues, remote reports, and sketch comedy relevant to that week's headlines.

Jay Mohr is a stand-up comedian and author who was born on August 23, 1970 in Verona, New Jersey. He has two sisters named Virginia and Julia, along with one son named Jackson, whom he fathered during his six-year marriage to former model Nicole Chamberlain. Mohr performed as a featured player for Saturday Night Live from 1993-1995. Among the other television productions he has worked on are The Jeff Foxworthy Show and Last Comic Standing.
