In 2005, Patric appeared on Broadway as "Brick", in a revival of the Tennessee Williams Pulitzer Prize-winning play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof opposite Ashley Judd, Ned Beatty and Margo Martindale. Both he and Judd received lukewarm reviews, while stage veterans Beatty and Martindale received much acclaim and, in Martindale's case, a Tony Award nomination.[2]

In the year 2004 Jason Patric was arrested due to the reason of driving the vehicle in a drunken state in Austin, Texas. He was alleged with the charges of getting physically confronting with the police officer, who arrested him. However he denied all the charges and in turn blamed the officer for harassing him.

A second charge against actor Jason Patric has been dropped following his arrest in March. Travis County Attorney David Escamilla said his office decided not to pursue the resisting arrest charge after reviewing evidence and determining that Patric's actions didn't constitute resisting arrest under Texas law.
