MARCH 30--Actor Jason Patric was busted by Texas cops early yesterday and charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and public intoxication. The 37-year-old thespian smelled of alcohol and fought with police after they tried to cuff him, according to the below probable cause affidavit filed in the City of Austin Municipal Court. Patric's trouble began at 2:45 AM when he mocked a patrolman who sought to clear large crowd of pedestrians out of a roadway. Asked if he had a problem complying with the police directive, Patric "assumed an aggressive stance." That, of course, is never a good idea when dealing with the fuzz. In short order, Patric tussled with the officer and fell to the ground with the cop (where he was eventually cuffed).
Jason Patric is not a man who smiles easily or often. Meeting with the press in a posh suite at San Francisco's Four Seasons Hotel, the actor is personable, but his limpid baby blue eyes are intense. He only breaks out in a real, wide-open grin once, when a reporter and a publicist chime in to compliment him on his ease in handling a baby in his new crime drama, Narc. For the childless bachelor, those scenes as an infant's doting father presented the Method disciple with, perhaps, the film's biggest challenge.

jason patric in lost boys.jpg Two days before Halloween, Jason Patric and his crew rolled into the bar. This is not a fancy bar, but it is in a fairly expensive part of town. Initially Patric complained about the price of his double Grey Goose on the rocks ($11), which frankly is probably below market for that area. He actually made the bartender get his receipt for each drink and complained about the price after every drink he ordered. Later in the evening, Mr. Patric was standing with his back to the bar and clandestinely reached over to where two singles were--two singles that had been left by a patron as a tip for the bartender. Without turning around, he swiped both dollars and went over to the juke box and used them to play songs.
The much-underrated Jason Patric and Ray Liotta electrify the screen with their presence in this exhilarating look at the pressures of undercover life of the narcotics cop. This movie is all about their performances as one or both of them grace the screen for the entire film and in the hands of lesser actors the whole production would have fell apart. These roles are the best either actor has had in a very long time with Liotta recapturing his Goodfellas and Field of Dreams promise and Patric retreating the path he took with his role in 1991 with Rush. The movie should elevate the pair back into the character actor pack and hoping make a few directors and producers realise how good these guys actually are.
Jason Patric was born to an Academy Award-nominated star as well as Pulitzer Prize- winning playwright namely Jason Miller. His mother Linda Mae was the daughter of the actor as well as comedian Jackie Gleason. The actor Joshua John Miller was his half-brother.
After the opening, the film details a complex investigation through the underworld, as two cops played by Ray Liotta and Jason Patric look for the murderer of Liotta’s partner. Patric’s character is an unlikely choice in the investigation considering that he had recently gone through detoxification, and was decidedly against returning to working on the streets. Liotta’s character is an intensely just cop, who is willing to supersede the system if need be to see that justice is served. The two are a pair of officers with similar experiences and similar outlooks, but with varying methods of investigation.
