The only drawbacks to touring, Aldean says, are that he doesn’t get to spend as much time with his wife, Jessica, and daughter, Keeley, when he’s on the road. Aldean married Jessica, his high school sweetheart, in 2001. Three years ago, they had Keeley, who was born on Valentine’s Day.

Aldean is currently touring with Rascal Flatts. “We’re on the road for three weeks straight right now, [after which] we’ll have a few days off,” he says. “Then we’ll be back out on the road through November. It’s fun to get to go out and play in front of 10,000-15,000 people every night, then get on the bus to go to the next town. But after a couple of weeks, I’m glad to spend even one day at home.”

Aldean said that depending on how long the trip is, the band can spend an entire day playing through a tournament. For smaller stretches of road, they split up the competition over a couple of nights.
