Jane Geddes
built 163 days ago
Jane Geddes was a small child when her mother made history by starting a riot in St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. This was a time when protestants and catholics were sworn enemies. But then Jane grows up and, locked up in the jail for singing too loudly, finds herself having to spend the night with a catholic. And as events unfold, she is forced to question her beliefs.
Jane Geddes, 26, shot a one-under-par 71 to defeat Sally Little by two strokes in an 18-hole playoff at NCR Country Club in Dayton, Ohio. Geddes and Little completed 72 holes at one-under-par 287. It was Geddes' first professional victory. Beth Daniel led by one stroke after a first-round 70.
Dr. Jane Geddes (Senior Lecturer, History of Art, King’s College, Aberdeen) discusses the St Albans Psalter, an English manuscript from the 12th century, which was designed to illustrate the life of Christ and the Psalms. But who chose the pictures and why? Behind their theological meaning, these pictures reveal the intense personal relationship between Abbot Geoffrey of St Albans and his beloved Christina of Markyate.

Through her close analysis, Geddes provides a profound insight into female literacy, Anglo-Norman relations, the organization of England's premier scriptorium, monk-nun relations and the emerging Anglo-Norman language. This new book demonstrates the significance of the St Albans Psalter, which in social terms is as important as the Bayeux Tapestry, crystallising the artistic, spiritual and emotional integration of Anglo-Saxons and Normans.

The dirt on Geddes' clubs was not from extra practice, but her last tournament three weeks ago. Her mind was 3,000 miles away at home in San Diego on a startup Internet company she recently founded, an escape from 18 years of professional golf.

The native of New York currently is the LPGA's senior director of tournament business affairs.
