built 618 days ago
Known for her warm voice and unique, sometimes outrageous songs, Jamie Anderson's music has reached many people. In 1990 and 1991, she was voted Favorite New Performer by readers of Hot Wire, an international journal of women's music and culture.
Anderson's latest label project "Fixia" aims to set a new benchmark for the 21st century. Summing up all the elements of the underground sound to a new point of reference, Fixia has unleashed a new burst of life into the scene – with the release of the critically acclaimed “Short Stories”. Expect a lot more in the coming months as the fruits of Jamie’s ground breaking musical talents are released and performed.

Jamie began his musical journey into studio production with jazz musician Dave Buxton. Inspired by hip hop, acid house and the booming club scene that had emerged around him, Jamie quickly began to perform and promote club nights in and around his home town of Bristol. He has now grown to the level where he DJ¹s all over the UK, Europe and beyond having recently toured America (Rotation tour) and Asia.
Although her current tour is only a five week jaunt along the west coast, Anderson is no stranger to touring -- she's been doing it since 1987. She began touring simply to make enough gas money to get her to a music festival and just kept going.
By 1997, with an ever-increasing stockpile of music, Artform Records was put on the map as Jamie gave himself a platform for releasing his productions. Recognition soon followed with the likes of Dave Angel and Steve Rachmad remixing his early material and the legendary Orlando Voorn commissioning work for his Slam Dunk label.
