One of the more original westerns on TV, Maverick, which was best remembered for James Garner as Bret Maverick, actually featured relatively few shows where he was the star. Early on in the first year of production, the show was behind schedule. A second production team was assembled and Jack Kelly was introduced to viewers as Bret's brother Bart. Bart appeared in about one third of the first season episodes.
