James D. G. ("Jimmy") Dunn was for many years the Lightfoot Professor of Divinity in the Department of Theology at the University of Durham. Since his retirement he has been made Emeritus Lightfoot Professor. He is a leading British New Testament scholar broadly in the evangelical tradition. Dunn is especially associated with the New Perspective on Paul, along with Tom Wright and E. P. Sanders. He is credited with coining this phrase during his 1982 Manson Memorial Lecture.

James R. Dunn is a full time faculty at Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry, Loma Linda California. He is responsible for instruction of appearance related dental treatments and digital photography. He is active in clinical biomaterial research in adhesive materials, directs a study club in aesthetic dental treatments, and lectures and directs workshops nationally and internationally on clinical aesthetic bonding treatments and Digital Dental Photography. He is a active member in the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the International and American Association of Dental Research, and other dental organizations.

James M. Dunn is the president of the Baptist Joint Committee Endowment, with offices in Washington, D.C. He served as executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee from 1981-1999. In addition to his current role as president of the BJC Endowment, Dunn is Professor of Christianity and Public Policy at Wake Forest Divinity School in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Although a workaholic, Sir James Dunn knew how to enjoy the money he had earned. He was one of the first businessman to acquire a Douglas DC-3 as a private business aircraft in which he traveled frequently between his homes in Europe and Canada. He maintained a vast wine cellar from the vineyards of France and frequented New York city and Broadway where he was a friend of television host Ed Sullivan.
