When veteran actor James Caan, 65, joined the cast of the NBC series “Las Vegas” in 2003, he never thought the show would become the number one new drama with the highly desirable 18-49 demographic. It was a career gamble that would pay off handsomely, and the show is now a better-than-even-money bet to be picked up for a third season. He’s been up and he’s been down, but it’s never wise to bet against Caan.

JAMES CAAN is leaving LAS VEGAS after announcing he won't be a part of the fifth season of the hit US TV drama. The movie icon and co-star NIKKI COX will not feature in the upcoming season of Las Vegas when it starts later this year, according to trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter. Caan, who played a surveillance boss in a Sin City casino, insists he wants to spend more time making movies. In a statement he says, "I'm eager to return to where my heart is, which is film, and, due to the show's schedule, I missed some great opportunities to do that."
