Jamaica: Caribbean Sea

Jamaica is a year-round destination: winter is usually warm by day and mild to cool by night; summer months are hot. The rainy season extends from May to November, with peaks in May and June and in October and November. Rain usually falls for short periods (normally in the late afternoon), and it's quite possible to enjoy sunshine for most of your visit during these months. In Portland parish... it can rain for days on end.
Roadside vendors are very popular in Jamaica and sell a variety of foods and drinks that can be eaten on the go, which is typical for a lunch in Jamaica. Fish tea (a broth), pepperpot soup, and buttered roast yams with saltfish are just a few examples. "Bun and cheese," which is a sweet bun sold with a slice of processed cheese, can be a quick lunch. Ackee with saltfish is a common snack sold at a stand, but the best-known snack are patties. Patties are flaky pastries filled with spicy minced meat or seafood.

Negril is known as the exotic, laid-back part of Jamaica. This friendly hideaway epitomizes Negril's carefree, fun-loving spirit. On the peaceful side of its famous seven-mile beach lies a tranquil retreat where gentle sea breeze find shade beneath an almond tree, and the genuine warmth of the staff creates an uniquely relaxing and inviting atmosphere.

Jamaica Map Few, if any, original things can be said about a Jamaica vacation. Easily the most popular destination in all of the Caribbean with a wide variety of Jamaica hotels, the vibrant and unique culture makes the island a wondrous place, a location of great history and a collection of contradictions – both stereotypically laid-back and bustling with activity, white sand beaches littered amongst urban sprawl, a population both wildly enthusiastic and tempered by widespread poverty, exacerbated by the numerous all-inclusive resorts that both celebrate and divorce themselves from Jamaican culture in equal measures.
