Jadakiss: Rapper Jadakiss
built 188 days ago
Before the release of Kiss the Game Goodbye, Jadakiss had been, as is the popular saying, "spitting straight fire" on records for a while. His verses on the songs "Ryde or Die", "Got it All", and "WWIII" showed the Kiss may well be ready for a solo album. Unfortunately, this CD proves that he, in fact, isn't even close. Jadakiss is the type of rapper that belongs on guest appearances and in group stuff. He's witty, but often too monotonous and mechanical. If Jadakiss isn't talking about the "mamis", or his cocaine dealings, he's talking about busting a gat at other rappers.
Jayson T. Phillips (born May 27, 1975)... known by his stage name Jadakiss, is an American rapper. He is a member of the group called The Lox (Jadakiss is one of three owners of the imprint known as D-Block). He recently signed to Roc-A-Fella Records, an imprint under Def Jam Records
Rapper Jadakiss (born Jason Phillips) became a member of the Ruff Ryders in 1999. Five years earlier, he joined the Lox (who started their saga as a group called the Warlocks) and has remained a member of both groups since. the Lox gained national exposure in 1997 with their multi-platinum tribute to the Notorious B.I.G., "We'll Always Love Big Poppa." Jadakiss released his debut solo album, Kiss tha Game Goodbye, in August of 2001 on the Ruff Ryders/Interscope label. The guest stars who joined him for his solo project are Naz, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, DMX, Eve, and the entire Ruff Ryders crew. The Ruff Ryders MCs, Eminem, Dr. Dre, the Neptunes, and Swizz Beats worked as producers for the album.
Jadakiss became a freestyle rapper, engaging in competitions by the time he was twelve. He and some of his early friends were given the opportunity to compete in the "Jack the Rapper Competition" in Florida, where Jadakiss was noticed for his battle rap ability. He met Dee and Wah of the Ruff Ryders, then a management company, and began hanging out and battling outside of the Ruff Ryders' studio where artists like DMX made their first hits.
