Iridium Satellite LLC claims to have 225,000 subscribers as of October 31, 2007, an 11% increase from the total by the end of the second quarter 2007. Revenue for the third quarter of 2007 was US$74.2 million with EBITDA of US$22.5 million.[4] Revenue in 2006 was US$212.4 million and EBITDA was US$53.9 million.

In December 2000 Dan Colussy, an aviation industry veteran, purchased the assets of Iridium LLC, including the satellite constellation and the terrestrial network for about US$25 million. Iridium Satellite LLC resumed service in March 2001, with cheaper prices. Among other customers, the U.S. Department of Defense has signed a multi-year contract for unlimited airtime for up to 20,000 government users.
