Situated in the heart of the west of Ireland in County Galway, Connemara National Park covers some 2,000 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs and heaths, and grasslands. Some of the Park's mountains, namely Benbaun, Bencullagh, Benbrack and Muckanaght, are part of the famous Twelve Bens range. Glanmore (meaning large glen) forms the centre of the Park.

Galway (Gaillimh) - a city on the river Corrib on the west coast of Ireland. Famous for its festivals and its location on Galway Bay. Known as the City of Tribes, Galway's summer is filled with festivals of music, food, gaelic language and culture. Galway hosts over fifty festivals a year, including the Galway Oyster Festival. The locals seem to give off a positive Bohemian vibe. Galway is split between two types of beautiful landscape: the gorgeous mountains to the west, and the east's farming valleys.

From 1766 Catholics favoured reform of the existing state in Ireland. Their politics were represented by the "Catholic Committees" - a moderate organisation of Catholic gentry and Clergy in each county which advocated repeal of the Penal Laws and emphasised their loyalty. Reforms on land ownership then started in 1771 and 1778-79.

Ardawn House is a beautiful home with a family atmosphere situated in a tranquil area, but only at five minutes walk from the center of the medieval city of Galway, in Ireland. The friendly Guilfoyle family who manages the place will make any stay more than pleasant. The early mornings are very enjoyable here since the homemade breakfasts are unbelievable.
