USNR PO2 Jaime S. Jaenke, 29, of Bay City, WI died in Al Anbar, Iraq as a result of enemy action when her HMMWV was struck by an improvised explosive device. Jaime was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25 from Fort McCoy, WI as a Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5) hospital corpsman/field medic. Originally from Iowa Falls, IA, Jaime had recently moved back there with her daughter and was starting her own business running an equestrian stable. Jaime had been an Emergency Medical Technician with the Ellsworth Ambulance Service in WI before she was activated in January and had been in Iraq about three months. She became the first female Iowan to die since WW II. Jaime leaves behind her daughter Kayla, mother Susan, and other family members.

MOSUL, IRAQ (June 28, 2004) � The final donation of care packages to the families of Iraqi police officers killed in action took place June 26 at One West police station in Mosul. Boxes containing toothbrushes, soap, detergent, candy, food and clothing items were given to local families who have lost loved ones fighting terrorists in Iraq.
