Ipod Nano: Screen
built 288 days ago
[L]astly, your iPod Nano is loaded with extras. Everything from calendars, contacts, and the World Clock appear in the Extras menu, along with a few more handy items. Take the Screen Lock, for example. Spin the Click Wheel to choose a four-digit combination and protect your iPod Nano from prying eyes. If you forget your combo, you can reset it at your next sync. Or use the built-in stopwatch to log your best times at the gym.

Since the iPod Nano is smaller than the full sized iPods, such as the iPod shuffle, the iPod Nano consequently comes with a smaller click wheel and screen. The screen is just 176 by 132 pixels and has a diagonal size of 1.5 inches. The screen is ... coloured and capable of a much higher resolution than the common greyscale iPod screen. This has made it possible to fit one extra line of text in the screen of the iPod Nano compared to the screen of the equally small iPod mini.

If you can fill your iPod Nano with photos, then you've got a ton of images at your disposal. iPod Nano holds thousands of photos that you can sync from your Mac or Windows PC via iTunes. Use the Click Wheel to scroll through photo thumbnails the same way you scroll through song titles. To see a photo full-screen, just click the center button. You can even view photo slideshows, complete with music. Just select Slideshow Settings, choose the time between slides, transition effect, music, and then start the show.

Apple iPod nano 4GB The iPod nano's interface is very intuitive. While most readers probably know this by heart now, to navigate through items you just scroll to it and press the center button. To go up a menu, press menu. That's it! An unbelievably simple interface. A few things require memorization, like clicking the center button while in the Now Playing screen to change ratings or move the time slider and holding Play/Pause to turn off the nano, but those are all trivial.
Apple Computer reportedly has agreed to replace iPod nanos with broken screens in response to customer complaints. In addition to the cracked screens, some iPod nano buyers are complaining about what they term excessive scratches on the casing that houses their iPods. Some have posted pictures of their scarred devices on Web sites devoted to complaints about the device, the paper reports.

PodFreq + iPod nano The iPod nano may be impossibly small, but its ... impossibly prone to cosmetic blemishes. PodFreq nano incorporates a hard protective case that helps guard your iPod against severe scratching and damage. The durable two piece case (with built-in swiveling stand) protects your iPod while leaving the screen and click wheel accessible.
