[T]he first intriguing aspect of Invasion is in place. A lot of families will be displaced by the storm, and citizens will turn up missing after it finishes wiping away most of Southern Florida. Those who are eventually found turn up dazed, confused, and -- oddly -- naked among the rubble. They are disoriented and dizzy at first, then suddenly regain their composure, as well as a subtle set of new personality traits. As their relationships start to realign, the differences become more noticeable. Little Rose (Ariel Gade) says it best when her missing mother is found.

The '60 Invasion is not a bar band. This a show band with experienced musicians who know how to engage and entertain and an audience and they did just that for 90-plus munites of nostalgia, comedy, audience participation and, yes, some great old rock 'n roll. David, Jack, Bob and Dave worked hard the entire evening and the audience showed its appreciation with a standing ovation at the end of the extended encore.

Invasion was formed in early 2006 by guitarists Joe Mazzitelli and Riley Miller, and if you haven't heard them yet, you haven't been within 500 feet of a gig. Mixing the apocalyptic volume dynamics of bands like Mogwai and My Bloody Valentine with the blips, screeches, and roars of Autolux and Sonic Youth and the mind bending math of Tera Melos and Cinemechanica gives Invasion a sound unfamiliar to much of the post rock scene. When it comes to live shows, expect amps piled to the ceiling and an onstage energy not unlike that of a wired thrash band. Invasion added JD Reeves on drums in June of '06 and have been playing with him since.
