Judging by their reaction to even a week's loss of Inuyasha on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, Inuyasha fans are a rabid and fanatical lot. That said, they probably hunger for all things connected to Rumiko Takahashi's wonderful Feudal-era action-adventure romantic-comedy.

Inuyasha and his fellow travelers find refuge in a cave by a river. But Renkotsu finds them and, intending to steal the injured Koga’s jewel shards, traps them. Inuyasha and Koga argue about who is to fight Renkotsu, but it is Inuyasha who fights with him—until Renkotsu blasts him away with a fireball. He then fires blasts at the others and, thinking them destroyed, goes into the cave to get Koga’s shards. Finding them all alive, Renkotsu is forced to fight with Koga.

Ridiculous Crossover (anime only): By using the Backlash Wave just as the show is going to commercial, Inuyasha can create a glitch that causes other [adult swim] programs to merge with the show. While this did save his life once, Inuyasha has since abstained from using it, as the appearance of non-anime characters freaked him the hell out.

Inuyasha and the others come across a village with a lot of wreckage, a flood to be exact. A boy gets the gang to help the villagers, and later is proven to be the headmaster's real son. They go to the temple of the Water God and fight with him, but he seems invincible. Sango and Miroku, who have been washed out, travel to the mountain where the true God is sealed, who's a shrunken, beautiful female. They return to the temple and finish the battle with the fake Water God.

Inuyasha's red garments are made of the legendary "Fire-Rat (Hinezumi) Fur" which is said to be fireproof. The historical reference can be found in the ancient Japanese folk tale "Taketori Monogatari", or "The Bamboo Cutter's Tale."
