Interwoven Inc returned to profitability in its second quarter on the back of solid revenue growth. The Sunnyvale, California-based provider of enterprise content management software reported net income of $1.8m, which overturned a net loss of $66,000 in the same quarter a year ago. Revenue for the quarter rose 20% to $49m.

Interwoven reported total revenues of $53.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2006, an increase of 13% from total revenues of $47.6 million for the fourth quarter last year. License revenues for the fourth quarter of 2006 were $21.0 million, an increase of 9% over the same period last year and a 13% increase sequentially. Support and service revenues increased by 16% from the fourth quarter last year to $32.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2006.

License revenues for the second quarter of 2007 were $21.0 million, an increase of 14% over the same period last year. Support and service revenues increased by 10% from the second quarter last year to $33.6 million for the second quarter of 2007.
