4. Sports Journalism -- Sports Journalism Institute
   The 2008 Sports Journalism Institute is a nine-week training and internship program for college students interested in sports journalism careers. The Institute is designed to attract talented students to print journalism through opportunities in sports reporting and editing and enhance racial and gender diversity in sports departments of newspapers nationwide. The program will run from May 31-Aug. 3, 2008.
5. Community Psychology -- Students
   Community psychology is concerned about improving the quality of life for individuals, communities, and society. It is committed to the development of psychological knowledge and how that knowledge is useful in community life. Through focusing on the connection between individuals and environment this course introduces students to the psychological theories, collaborative partnership building, and action research strategies used by community psychologists. As part of this course, students will conduct an ecological analysis of a community and plan an intervention project.
6. Seton Hall University -- Programs
   Seton Hall University undergraduates who have completed 75 credits toward their undergraduate degree in history, with at least 21 credits in history (at least seven courses) are eligible to apply to the combined B.A./M.A. program option and complete both degrees in five years.

9. Aviation Career -- Students
   While the plane was being built, Irving founded Experience Aviation Inc. (EA), a nonprofit organization that provides flight simulator training and aviation career guidance to middle and high school students. He opened the first EA Learning Center opened in Miami in November, 2006, with the support of the Miami Mayor, School Commissioners, and other local officials and businesses. Students who attend the center are among the thousands worldwide who have been tracking Irving’s trip on Microsoft flight simulator programs and reading his flight blog on his website, http://www.experienceaviation.org/.
10. West Africa -- Programs
    Summer Minority Student Internships are being offered in West Africa in an effort to increase the active participation of minorities in international affairs (African-Americans, Asians, Eskimo or Aleut, Native American Indians, Mexican Americans, Native Pacific Islanders, Puerto Ricans). Internships will be awarded to those who, in the judgment of the review panel, have demonstrated ability and potential to succeed in international studies, and have a genuine interest in African Affairs. Students without previous foreign travel are encouraged to submit applications. This internship program has been funded by a grant from the United States Department of Education. The competition is open to U.S. citizens who are enrolled in the M.A. program of an accredited college or university in the United States.
